Short answer
TPM works when it connects operators, maintenance and leaders around simple standards and fast root-cause elimination.
TPM is a way of working, not a form
Extensive documentation doesn't reduce failures. Regular inspections, visible deviations, proper responses and eliminating root causes do.
The operator's role
The operator knows the machine's behavior best. Simple cleaning, lubrication and inspection standards help catch deviations early, but they can't replace maintenance expertise.
The role of maintenance
The technical team should develop prevention, MTBF and MTTR analysis, and eliminate recurring sources of failure. Priorities must follow the impact on production, quality and safety.
The daily rhythm
A short meeting at the process, visible problems, an owner and a deadline are more effective than a monthly report. TPM should be part of daily management, not a separate campaign.
